Labor Day Closure, Refuse Collection Announced In Stratford
Officials announce the schedule for Town Hall offices and refuse collection for Labor Day weekend in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — (From Town Hall): In observance of the Labor Day Holiday, Town Hall offices will close at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, with the exception of the Town Clerk, Tax Assessor and Tax Collector which will all close at 2 p.m. Those with business to transact in Town Hall offices should plan accordingly. All Town Offices will be CLOSED on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.
There will be NO refuse, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday, Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. All routes will be picked up one day late with Friday’s route to be collected on Saturday. The Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard will be CLOSED on Sept. 6. The Transfer Station will be OPEN on Saturday, Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Residents using refuse cans are advised that they must be the standard 32-gallon capacity container and that garbage contained in the larger 45-gallon capacity can WILL NOT be collected. Also, paint, oil or any other liquid should not be placed in your refuse cans.

Residents are reminded that only grass, leaves in paper bags or cans, and branches no longer than 4’ and 1” in diameter tied in bundles or placed in the bags or cans will be collected with yard waste. Plastic bags, plastic planters, dirt and rocks will not be collected.
