• Stratford Schools Awarded State Grant Aimed At Boosting Student Attendance (patch.com) — Stratford schools are receiving a $250,000 state grant through Connecticut's LEAP program to boost student attendance with targeted home visits and family support. Local educators and community partners will work directly with Stratford families to identify barriers keeping students out of class and connect them with resources, as part of a broader statewide push that has already reduced chronic absenteeism.
   

• Shelton woman sues Yale New Haven Health over alleged delayed cancer diagnosis (ctinsider.com) — A Shelton woman is suing Yale New Haven Health, alleging that delayed follow-up on a breast lesion during care at Northeast Medical Group, which is based in Stratford, allowed her cancer to progress to Stage IV. The complaint claims providers missed multiple opportunities over several years to order a biopsy or specialist referral, while Yale says it cannot discuss pending litigation but remains committed to patient care.
   

• Sikorsky's 'Black Hawk 2070' Strategy Includes Drones, New Engines, And Flying The Pilotless U-Hawk This Year (twz.com subscription) — Sikorsky's Stratford plant is at the center of a long-term "Black Hawk 2070" push, with engineers here building autonomous systems, new engines, and even a pilotless U-Hawk cargo drone slated to fly this year. For Stratford residents, that means high-tech aerospace jobs, ongoing investment in the local facility, and a clearer picture of how the plant's work will support both military and disaster-relief missions for decades.
