​Stratford Candidate Profile: Rich Fredette For Zoning Commission

STRATFORD, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Stratford and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Stratford Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as Election Day draws near.

Rich Fredette is running for Seat 1 on the Zoning Commission as a Republican. Fredette is a blight enforcement officer for the Town of Stratford and the current chair of the Zoning Commission. He has also served on the Town Council, Board of Zoning Appeals and Arts Commission.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

We are moving Stratford in a positive direction while protecting our zoning laws. Our community is see a strong focus on improving our economic development and we are seeing businesses growing and new one starting. I will remain committed to our zoning laws and growing our local economy Chairman Zoning board

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Over 30 years of Volunteer & Elected experience in all branches of our town Government has given me the knowledge to be the best person for this position (along with good ole fashion common sense)

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

100 % attendance record as an elected official, never missed a vote. and I will continue to fight against predatory developers who abuse affordable housing regulations

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have and will continue to stay committed to our zoning regulations while protecting the cultural integrity of our neighborhoods

I was born and raised in Stratford, I have raised my family in Stratford, people who have known My commitment to this town and its continued growth is second to none
