Stratford Library Opens Applications For College Scholarships

The Board of Trustees will award two $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors residing in Stratford.

The Stratford Library Board of Trustees will award two $500.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors residing in Stratford again this year.

Students must have a current Stratford Library card, be enrolled in or been accepted to a school of higher education, demonstrate some level of involvement with the Library between grades 9-12, demonstrate community involvement and/or leadership through volunteer service and extracurricular activities while in high school and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Applicants will also need to submit proof of Stratford residency, an essay of up to 500 words explaining their involvement with the Stratford Library and two letters of recommendation.

The scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee of Library Board members. The application deadline is April 30, 2021. Applications are available through Guidance Counselor offices at area high schools as well as the Library’s Teen Department.
