Stratford Election 2017 Results: Vote Totals For All Races

Residents voted on several local positions in Tuesday's municipal election. Here are the results for all the races.

STRATFORD, CT — State Representative Laura Hoydick will be Stratford's next mayor, defeating Democrat Stephanie Philips by a vote of 5,738 to 5,126. Petitioning Candidate Sandra Zalik received 688 votes. Republicans also took a 7-3 majority on the town council in Tuesday's municipal election.

The following Republicans won seats on the town council: Chris Pia (1st District), Ronald "Ron" Tichy (2nd District), Ken Poisson (6th District), Bill Perillo (7th District), Jim Connor (8th District), Bill O’Brien (9th District) and Laura Dancho (10th District).

Democrat Wali Kadeem won in the 3rd District, while fellow Democrats David Harden and Greg Cann also won seats in the 4th and 5th Districts, respectively.

STRATFORD, CT — On Nov. 7, Stratford residents will hit the polls and vote for various local positions. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dozens of candidates are on the ballot for the local election. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know.

Residents will vote on candidates for Mayor, Town Council, Board of Education, Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Constables. The following are the candidates in some of the town-wide races. To view all candidates and a sample ballot in your district, click here.

Mayor

Board of Education (Vote for any four)

  • Vincent Faggella (D)
  • Bob Delorenzo (D)
  • Gavin Forrester (R)
  • Rich Tallberg (R)
  • Alan Llewelyn (R)
  • Karen Rodia (R)
  • Charles A. Lindberg Jr. (Petitioning Candidate)

Am I Registered?

If you do not know if you are registered to vote, you can click here. Applications must be postmarked or received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election, which is Oct. 31. However, if you miss the deadline for registering for an election, Connecticut now offers same-day voter registration. You can register and vote in person on Election Day at your town's Election Day Registration location. You can contact your local registrars of voters for information.

Absentee Ballots

You can vote by absentee due to the following reasons:

  • Illness or physical disability
  • Absence from town during all election hours
  • Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
  • Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
  • Active service in the Armed Forces
