Ellington Boys Barely Beat Suffield in Lacrosse Action
Ellington weathered a late run by Suffield to win on its home field, 9-8, on Monday afternoon.
The Ellington boy's lacrosse pulled out a close win over Suffield, 9-8, on Monday afternoon. The Knights weathered five unanswered goals from the Wildcats in the final eight minutes of the fourth quarter to win the game on their home field.
The Knights led 5-2 at the half and were up 7-3 at the end of the third quarter. The Wildcats put together a late flurry of offense to get within one goal of the lead but came up just short.
The Ellington win evens the record with Suffield, 1-1. Suffield won at home, 13-8, on April 6.

Lucas Horvath had three goals, Kevin Vincens and Connor Defemia scored two each and Brian Borbas and C.J. Schiessl both got one in the net for the Knights.
Suffield's Cory Allen, James Conway and Josh Albert all scored two goals, Drew Fahle and Adam Holmes scored one each. Eric Johnson led the Wildcats with four assists.

Ellington plays next against East Catholic at home Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. The Wildcats face Avon at home Thursday at 7 p.m.
