Suffield's Latest Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

A lot of people have barbecues planned with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, and many others plan to attend ceremonies and parades honoring those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

It’s clear from the latest National Weather Service forecast that Sunday is the best day to have outdoor plans as temperatures around Connecticut will be in the low to mid 70s and skies will be sunny.

Saturday shouldn’t bad either, just a bit chillier with temperatures in the mid to high 60s with plenty of sun.

Earlier this week, thunderstorms and showers were forecast for Memorial Day itself, which is when numerous ceremonies and parades are scheduled.

The good news is, it appears the showers will hold off until Monday evening, and while it will be mostly cloudy there shouldn’t be any rain during the day. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s on Monday.

It appears showers and thunderstorms are possible for Monday night and just in time for back to work and school on Tuesday.

• Thursday night: A slight chance of rain between midnight and 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Friday: A slight chance of showers before 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 3pm, then isolated showers after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Light northwest wind becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
• Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
• Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78.
• Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
• Memorial Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80.
• Monday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
