Police Investigating Threat Made Against East Lyme on Social Media

The message was posted on the social media site "Yik Yak" on Christmas Eve.

A threat made against East Lyme on the social media website, “Yik Yak” is being investigated by officials, WFSB reports.

According to WFSB, the threat stated “better get ready for the hail of bullets. I’ve been bullied so long and after break I’m going to let all my anger out.” State Police, the East Lyme Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking into the threat.

Police have contacted the East Lyme Superintendent of Schools and will be using a number of security precautions, the Day of New London reports.

According to The Day, Superintendent of Schools James Lombardo said although the threat was not made directly against the schools, officials are treating the threat as a serious matter.
