9-Year-Old Claims He was Assaulted at a Trumbull Park
Trumbull police are investigating. The boy claims he was kicked and punched in the stomach by a male.

Trumbull police say at 12 p.m. Monday a 911 call was received reporting that a nine-year-old boy was assaulted by an unknown male at Twin Brooks Park.
Information obtained from the boy was as follows according to police:
The boy was riding his bike in the park with a young female but the two had become separated briefly.

The boy described and directed police to the area where the assault occurred. That location was a parking lot near the east pavilion.
The boy said the male came at him, kicked him in the leg and punched him in the stomach. The male reportedly tried to pin him to the ground but was unable to. The suspect fled when the boy’s young companion came over and the two children then ran to find their parents who were nearby.

The boy did complain of leg pain after the assault and was evaluated at the scene by Trumbull EMS. The suspect was described as a white male, about twenty years of age, dark hair, wearing a blue short sleeve shirt and gray shorts.
The Trumbull Police Department sent several units to the area and was also assisted by a Stratford Police K-9 tracking dog.
No suspect or witnesses were located during the search of the area and surrounding streets.
