$1 Million Bond Set for Suspect in Vernon Drive-By Shooting
The man accused of firing shots in the Rockville section of Vernon appeared in court Thursday.

VERNON, CT — The suspect in a drive-by shooting in the Rockville section of Vernon had a $1 million bond placed on his head in Rockville Superior Court on Thursday.
Coolidge Edwards was being held in a $250,000 bond after being arrested on Wednesday for the Monday shooting. He did not post the $1 million after the arraignment and the case was continued to Aug. 22.
The shooting took place near Coolidge's 56 Ward Street home, police said.

Coolidge was located and arrested in New Britain, police said. It is alleged that on July 24, Coolidge fired shots from his vehicle at an occupied vehicle, striking the other vehicle, police said.
No one was injured, police said.

Coolidge has been charged with criminal attempt at assault in the first degree, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a firearm without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment, police said.
Vernon Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information in the shooting to call 860-872-9126. Callers may remain anonymous, police said.
