2 Bottles Of Cologne Among Items Taken In Vernon Car Burglaries: Cops

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man has been arrested on warrants for January car burglary incidents in Vernon. Among the items taken were two bottles of cologne.

Luis Gomez was taken into custody last week, police said. He is due in court on March 14.

Both incidents were on Grove Street, police said.

At 12:16 p.m. on Jan. 26, a pair of Bose bluetooth headphones, a charging chord for a portable oxygen tank went missing from a car, along with two bottles of cologne and an older model I-Phone. The estimated total value of the items stolen from the vehicle was about $300, according to police.

Gomez was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny in connection with the crime.

On Jan. 6 at 6:10 a.m., a Grove Street resident told police he was following someone who he thought had burglarized his vehicle. A purple purse, a toll pass, sunglasses, multiple hair ties, a plastic bag full of coins and a pair of dog tags were discovered missing from the car, police said.

For that incident, Gomez was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree criminal trespass and and third-degree burglary, according to a warrant.
