In Vernon the compliance checks were conducted to address enforcement of the liquor laws, making alcohol less accessible to minors, police spokesman Lt. William Meier said.
As a follow-up, Vernon Drug and Alcohol Prevention Council will be sponsoring a “TIPS” training,
offered to employees of stores that sell alcohol, he said. The TIPS training provides information on the liquor
laws and how to handle difficult situations that may occur when enforcing the laws. Meier said.
