Angry Mom Accused Of Death Threats Made To Rockville Courthouse Juvenile Judge

A woman is in custody on a high bond in connection with threats against a Tolland County Juvenile Courthouse Judge, state police said.

VERNON, CT — A Hartford woman is accused of threatening a judge at Rockville Juvenile Court, state police said.

Lauren Willis, 33, was taken into custody on March 23 after a traffic stop. She was then charged via a warrant with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. She is currently in custody on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on April 14, according to judicial system records.

According to a warrant, on Jan. 21, state police were summoned to the Tolland County Juvenile Courthouse in Vernon to investigate a report about a threat made to Judge Margaret Murphy.

State police were told that Willis, with whom the court deals with "frequently," stated to a Department of Children and Families case worker that she "knew where the judge lived" and "was going to find her address and kill her."

She repeated the death threat in similar language two other times, according to a warrant.

Judge Murphy has been the only judge to handle Willis' cases, according to a warrant.

Willis has three children involved in the Child Protection Services program and had had parental rights revoked with the two "older" children and her 10-month old is in DCF custody, according to a warrant.
