Birdcode also features sides made in-house.
David Vorchheimer and Kyle Lynch are running the Vernon location.
Lynch, a West Hartford native, began his career in 2008 and had worked his way up from an entry-level position under Vorchheimer to director of operations for an eight-restaurant system.
"We instantly fell in love with Birdcode's offerings and customer experience," Vorchheimer said. "We are excited to bring Birdcode to Vernon and know that the community is equally excited to embrace its unique flavors and welcoming atmosphere."
Birdcode took over the 2,400-square-foot space at the former papa Gino's.
The restaurant is also currently hiring staff members.
Birdcode has also partnered with area artist Corey Pane, whose artwork will be featured prominently within the restaurant.
In addition to Vernon, Birdcode has restaurants in West Hartford and Darien and will be expanding in Canton and New Britain.
