According to Cornerstone officials, during the pandemic, job losses heightened overall needs in Vernon and the area. Shelter and food service costs increased as well and more people have been using the soup kitchen and food cupboard operated by Cornerstone.
"The community has responded over the last year and a half to the need, however, the need still remains while donations have gone down," officials said.
