D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches Wraps Up Neighborhood $10K Giveaway

Hockanum Valley Community Council, a nonprofit based in Vernon, Connecticut was one of 40 organizations that participated in D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches’ Neighborhood $10K Giveaway Program, which ran from June 28 through August 8. The program concluded with a donation of $10,000 to the Taunton High School Culinary Arts Program for receiving the greatest number of votes during the 6-week program. Collectively, more than 53,000 votes were cast in support of the different causes and communities represented in the program.

As a sign of appreciation and recognition for their contributions to the local community, D’Angelo delivered a free lunch of Sandwiches and Chips through its ongoing EveryDAy Heroes program to the Hockanum Valley Community Council, as well as all the other participating organizations.

“We were so happy to see all the support for this program,” said Deena McKinley, CMO of D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches. “As New England’s neighborhood sandwich shop, we’re grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness for the important work going on in the communities we serve, and we thank our partner organizations, our valued guests, and our Team Members, who were the driving force behind the program’s success.”

The Neighborhood $10K Giveaway Program was inspired by D’Angelo’s passion for the people and organizations in their local communities. Building off its EveryDAy Heroes program, the Neighborhood $10K Giveaway was designed as a way to continue to support and give back to the people in these towns. Each participating restaurant was tasked with identifying an organization in their community that was important to them. Partner organizations included food pantries, youth sports leagues, schools, community centers, pet shelters, and many more.

Supporters were asked to vote for their favorite D’Angelo restaurant and partner organization through the online voting page which could be accessed through the D’Angelo website, scanning QR codes at restaurants and through sharing the link to the voting page.

“We couldn’t be more thankful for all our community partners who participated in the program, which allowed us to learn about and shine a light on some incredible causes,” said Tom Sterrett, CEO of D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches. “Congratulations to everyone involved!”
