Drug Operation Closed Down In Vernon Raid
Authorities charged a Vernon resident with multiple drug offenses as part of a task force operation.

VERNON, CT — State, federal and local authorities broke up a narcotics operation with a wide inventory in the Rockville section of Vernon, according to an arrest report.
Police released details of the Nov. 21 arrest this week.
At 6:30 a.m. that day, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Vernon Police Department, armed with multiple search warrants, raided Apartment 6 at 175 1/2 East Main St. The residence had been the subject of a lengthy Narcotics investigation, along with its resident, 40-year-old Pernell Clemonts, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, police believed Clemonts had been selling narcotics in the Rockville section of Vernon.
The search uncovered 14.39 ounces of marijuana, 9.55 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms and syrup, 1.39 grams of cocaine, a total of $5,159 in U.S. Currency, along with drug packaging materials, according to an arrest report.

Clemonts was taken into custody without incident and charged with:
- Sale of a hallucinogen
- Use of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of a controlled substance
- The sale and manufacture of cannabis
Clemonts appeared in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday and posted a $50,000 bond, records show.
He is due back before a judge on Jan. 19, records show.
