VERNON, CT — A fire broke out Friday afternoon at the Domino's on Route 83 in Vernon.

No other businesses seemed to be affected, though evacuations also took place as a precaution at both Dunkin' Donuts to the west and Farm Auto Care to the east. Everyone seemed to be out of Domino's safely. And no injuries were reported.

The fire broke out just before 4 p.m. and traffic in the area was heavy. Flames could be seen coming through the roof at the peak of the blaze. As firefighters took on the flames, detours were set up in several spots to keep the afternoon commute moving.

"This was a complex scene in a densely packed business area of town," he said. "Fire, police and EMS units quickly and efficiently responded."
