Go-Fund-Me Set Up To Remember Vernon Crash Victim
A fundraising effort is under way to assist the family of a popular 22-year-old from Vernon who was killed in a traffic accident.

VERNON, CT — A fundraising effort is under way to assist the family of a popular 22-year-old from Vernon who was killed in a traffic accident last Monday morning.
The Go-Fund-Me page for the family of Marcellus Davis can be accessed here. It was set up by Davis' aunt, Lea Dailey. As of late Sunday night, donations totaled $2,285. The goal is to raise $10,000.
The crash took place at about 3 a.m. last Monday on Route 30 near Merline Road, where Davis lived. A BMW sedan driven by Davis collided with a commercial box truck, according to police.

He was a popular staff member of the Route 30 Cumberland Farms.

A memorial vigil, organized by some of Davis' classmates and friends, took place Sunday near the accident site, Dailey said.
