"I am honored and humbled by the support and encouragement I am receiving,” Gordon said. “I am asking for the support of Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Unaffiliated voters in November. As your new state senator, I will work tirelessly to make Connecticut a safer, more affordable state. I will defend local control of zoning and education, and I will make sure that the voices of parents get heard in Hartford.”
Gordon, a hematology-oncology physician from Woodstock, has served as the chairman of the Woodstock Planning and Zoning Commission since 2008.
Current state senator Dan Champagne, who also serves as mayor of Vernon, has endorsed Dr. Gordon to replace him.
“Jeff has my wholehearted support,” Champagne said. “As our new senator, Dr. Jeff Gordon will put parents first. He will listen to taxpayers from Vernon to Tolland to Woodstock. Your voice will be heard.”
Former longtime 35th District Senator Tony Guglielmo of Stafford has also endorsed Dr. Gordon.
The 35th Senate District includes the towns of Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Ellington, Eastford, Hampton, Stafford Springs, Thompson, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington and Woodstock.
