Man Has 4 Active Trespass Cases In Vernon After Arrest This Week

A man now has four active trespass cases in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A man described in state judicial system records as a habitual trespasser now has four similar active cases in Vernon after he was found passed out on the floor of a West Street home, police said.

The latest incident involving 49-year-old Casey Speers took place 33 minutes before midnight at 3 West St., according to a report. A Vernon officer arrived at the house and found a man, later identified as Speers, asleep on a floor.

Speers told police he needed to sleep, did not want to do so outside, and had nowhere else to go, according to a report. He had burglar tools on him, according to a report.

Speers was charged with possessing burglar tools, third-degree burglary, first-degree crimnal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief, according to a report.

He was arrested in September for breaking into the same residence, records show.

He is due in court on Oct. 16 or 17 for all of his four active cases, according to court records.
