Powerful Drugs Found in Vernon Home During Raid

A Vernon man was charged in a drug-related case, police said.

VERNON, CT — A search by drug enforcement authorities at a Dockerel Road home in Vernon uncovered a collection of strong hallucinogenic drugs, police reports indicate.

Before the raid, Vernon police went to 101 Dockerel Road for a welfare check at 1:42 a.,m. on Tuesday, according to reports.

The resident in question, 24-year-old Ryan Howell, was taken to Rockville General Hospital and later arrested by Vernon officers for possessing a hallucinogen, police said.

Howell was held on a $5,000 bond, reports indicate.

Officers from the the East Central Narcotics Task Force, then obtained a search warrant and went into the home, according to reports. The task force had received information that the use and sale of methamphetamine was taking place from the residence, according to reports.

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration Clandestine Lab team and a chemist from the State Toxicology Lab assisted with joined the search, according to reports. The home had to be declared safe before officers were able to go in, according to reports.

ECNTF members seized suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, Lysergic Acid; Diethylamide, commonly known as LSD; and Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid, commonly known as GHB, as well as drug paraphernalia, according to post-raid reports.

The drugs and equipment were located throughout the house, according to reports.

Howell has appeared in court once and more charges and arrests are expected in the case, authorities said. He is due back before a judge on Feb. 20, according to judicial system records.
