VERNON, CT — A Rockville High School graduate is making a run for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts.
Beth Lindstrom, an RHS Class of 1979 member, most recently served as Gov. Mitt Romney's secretary of consumer affairs and business regulation.
If successful in a Republican primary, she would face off against Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). Lindstrom is locally known as a 1979 graduate of Rockville High School.

Local Republicans have been pulling for her.
"While I went to school and graduated with Beth, I never really spoke much to her. However, considering the manner in which she modestly comported herself with confidence, I am not surprised at the level of achievement her professional life has brought," Vernon Town Council member Jim Tedford said.

Another graduate of 1979, Phyllis Gunter Ramondetta, remembers Lindstrom as “smart and enthusiastic,” adding that “her motivation and spirit were contagious.”
Vernon Republican Town Committee Chairman Bob Hurd said that Vernon is "known for its history of supporting its own," so Lindstrom will have support in Connecticut.
Tedford added, “I wish her all the luck and sincerely hope all Republicans, and more, financially support her all the way to Washington. While never before serving in elected office, Lindstrom is a known quantity throughout Massachusetts Republican circles."
