Body Found Under Ice At Vernon's Tankerhoosen Lake
A police dive team located a body in Vernon's Tankerhoosen watershed.

VERNON, CT — A police dive team on Tuesday discovered a body under the ice along the Tankerhoosen Watershed area.
It was part an intensified search effort to find a missing Vernon man. Police early Tuesday afternoon said an article of clothing was found on the ice on Tankerhoosen Lake and, shortly after, the body was located in the same area. The state medical examiner was called to the scene to assist with identifying the body, police said.
Police said Tuesday afternoon it was premature to confirm it was the missing man.

A missing person report had been filed for 43-year-old Nashawn Harvey, who was last seen walking his dog in the area of Phoenix Street and Maple Avenue on Friday at about 7:45 pm.
The waterfall and lake, where the search took place, are nearby.

It was reported to police that Harvey had gone out to walk his dog. The dog later returned home without Harvey, police said.
Harvey is being described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds. He is bald with a brown goatee, police said. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, black Dickies pants, black sneakers and a black knit hat, police said.
