State Subsidies OK'd For Cop Cams, Sewer Work In Vernon
More than $1.7 million in state aid is coming to Vernon.

HARTFORD – The State Bond Commission Friday approved funds totaling more than $1.7 million for sewer projects and police cameras in Vernon.
More than $1.6 million was OK'd for the construction of sanitary sewer and pump stations near exits 66 and 67 near Interstate 84 in Vernon
More than $106,000 towards the reimbursement of the purchase of cameras and storage devices for the Vernon Police Department.

"Investments like these are critical for our communities, especially public safety, which
continues to be a top priority for me," Rep. Tammy Nuccio said.
Added State Sen. Jeff Gordon, "For our public safety professionals in Vernon, some of the most critical elements to their service is the quality of their working conditions and equipment. Body cameras for Vernon police enable officers to record their interactions for both their safety and the public’s. I will continue to support all our first responders and other measures that ensure the safety of our community."
