2019 Municipal Elections: Champagne Still The Toast of Vernon
Daniel Champagne has been re-elected mayor of Vernon and his fellow Republicans dominated the 2019 local election.

VERNON, CT — Incumbent Republican Mayor Daniel Champagne has been elected to another term in Vernon.
According to the official tally sheet, Champagne garnered 3,435 votes and Democratic challenger Claire Janowski received 2,585 votes.
That's 57.06 perecent to 42.94 percent.

The Republicans were also trying to maintain control of the town council and board of education in Vernon and swept the races.

Champagne, is a decorated former Vernon police officer who won his first mayoral term in 2013. He is also the sitting state senator in the 35th District.
Janowski is a former member of the Vernon Town Council who occupied a seat in the state House of Representatives over multiple terms.
