Vernon Burglary Case Includes Negligent Pedestrian Charge

VERNON, CT — Vernon police thwarted a burglary last week and the suspect's charges included being a negligent pedestrian, a report indicates.

Vernon police released the details of the Jan. 26 incident Monday.

At 5:58 a.m. that day, officers were dispatched to a dwelling on Hale Street Extension for a suspicious situation. They then identified a burglary suspect as 21-year-old Luis Gomez, whose listed address is in Vernon, according to an arrest report.

In addition to the negligent pedestrian charge, Gomez was charged with third-degree criminal trespass and contrary to commit third-degree larceny, according to an arrest report.

Bail was set at $25,000 in the case.
