Vernon Detectives Investigating $30,000 Bank Account Theft
Vernon police are looking for a man who has been impersonating a bank customer.

VERNON, CT — Detectives from the Vernon Police Department are investigating a case involving the theft of more than $30,000 from a customer of a local bank branch.
Police said a man has been impersonating a People's United Bank customer and has made off with $37,700 in fraudulent withdrawals via the bank branch inside the Stop & Shop at 10 Pitkin Road.
The transactions took place on four separate dates, police said.

Police on Thursday released surveillance images of the man. Anyone recognizing him is urged to call the Vernon Police Department and speak with Det. Charles Hicking at 860-896-3768.

Police said tips can remain anonymous.
