Vernon Police Dog Franco, Officers Nab Crack, Cash In Traffic Stop

Vernon cops took several grams of crack off the street in a Sunday bust, according to an incident report.

VERNON, CT — Chalk up another drug bust for Vernon police dog Franco.

On Sunday, Vernon officer Andre Lisee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 83 for a moving violation, police said. The driver was known to the VPD for narcotics involvement, according to an incident report.

Officer Brandon Zawadski and Franco responded to the stop and Franco detected narcotics within the vehicle, according to an incident report.

A subsequent hand search uncovered approximately 8 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged for sale, $800 in cash, two glass smoking pipes, and other miscellaneous paraphernalia, police said.

The driver is now facing drug charges, police said.
