Vernon Posts Columbus Day Trash Schedule
Changes are in order to the local trash and recycling slate next week.
VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed Monday, Oct. 11, in observance of Columbus Day. Trash and recycling will not be collected on that day but, will instead be collected on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 along with that day's regular collection.
Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station free of charge year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 10.
