Vernon Scarecrows Beginning to Come Out for Annual Contest

The scarecrow contest at Strong Family Farm has become a fall staple in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — The scarecrows are beginning to emerge along West Street and Peterson Road for what has become fall staple in Vernon — the annual Strong Family Farm contest.

So far, there is one that is perfect for art class and another that might turn one to stone in a stare-down.

And there are plenty of fence posts along the two roads waiting for their scarecrows.
