Lyman Hall Football Loses First Game Since Coach's Firing

The Trojans battled but fell to Hillhouse; Rob Marone was fired earlier in the week for violating a CIAC rule.

The Lyman Hall football team battled Hillhouse in its first game since coach Rob Marone was fired but ultimately lost a 48-21 decision at Fitzgerald Field Friday night.

The Trojans (0-5) put up a fight and trailed by just 27-21 heading into halftime.

Marone was let go on Monday for violating a CIAC rule prohibiting off-season practices.

It was a difficult situation,” interim coach Aidan Lynch told Ray Curren of Elm City Newspapers/GameTimeCT after the game. “Many of us on the staff are very close to Rob. He’s my best friend and we love him. It’s a tough situation for everyone in this program, and that’s all I have to say about that.”
