Anti-Trump Graffiti Was Written Out Of ‘Anger Toward Liberals,’ West Hartford Man Tells Police: Report
The man reportedly told police that he had hoped the vandalism at an elementary school would look like it was done by the "Left."

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The man charged with writing threatening and vulgar messages about President Donald Trump at a West Hartford elementary school told police that he did it out of “anger towards liberals,” according to the Hartford Courant.
The Courant reports that Steven Marks, 32, told police that liberals are “breaking major laws everyday and being disrespectful towards our government” and that he had hoped that the vandalism would look like it was done by the “Left.” (To sign up for West Hartford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The vandalism was discovered on the grounds of Morley School on June 16. Several anti-Trump writings were found on benches, playground equipment and other areas, according to West Hartford Police.

Police said in a press release after the vandalism was discovered that several messages were threatening and vulgar in nature written in what appeared to be a green Sharpie pen. Video from the previous night showed a white male suspect on a bike doing the damage.
With the assistance of the public, a person of interest was identified and police received tips from the public as well as a call from the suspect himself after seeing his picture on the news, police said.

Marks was arrested on a warrant and charged with breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief. He appeared in Hartford Community Court on Wednesday.
