And, according to the Hartford Courant, the franchisee for the new "Nothing Bundt Cakes" store in town wouldn't have it any other way.

Traci Halky, a former attorney from Florida who moved north to be close to family, opened the store late last month, according to the Courant.

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce lists "Nothing Bundt Cakes" at 1481 New Britain Ave. at Corbin's Corner, near Trader Joes.

According to the chain's website, "Nothing Bundt Cakes" started in 1997 in Las Vegas in the kitchens of company founders Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz.

After perfecting their recipes for bundt cakes of all sizes, the circular culinary creations with a big hole in the middle became the object of their business that now totals 430 locations in 40 states and Canada.

Their motto is "Bringing joy, one cake at a time."

The cakes are of all sizes and are featured in various arrangements, from towers to boxed for the small "bundlets" to, simply, the type of traditional cake one would take, say, to a friend's house for a card game.
