Teen Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole, Knocks Out Power: West Hartford Police
Police said the 17-year-old sustained minor injuries in the accident, which knocked out power to several homes in the area.
A 17-year-old driver was fortunate to walk away with minor injuries following a collision that totaled the car he was driving and knocked out power to the homes in the area, according to West Hartford Police.
Police received multiple 911 calls at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 in the area of 1208 Trout Brook Drive.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a snapped utility pole, power outage, and debris strewn all along Trout Brook Drive and the properties located along the stretch, according to Capt. Jeffrey Rose.

Rosa said the only involved vehicle was heavily damaged and appeared to have rolled over during the incident.
The 17-year-old operator sustained minor injuries during the incident, according to Rose. He was treated at the scene by AMR personnel and was transported to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford for further evaluation and treatment.

He was the sole occupant of the car.
The vehicle, a 2005 Toyota 4Runner, suffered total damage and was towed.
The utility pole was snapped at the base and knocked out power to homes in the area. Frontier was notified and responded for repairs.
The accident is under investigation, according to Rose.
