West Hartford Man Drove 112 MPH On Way To Court For Speeding Ticket: VT Police

Vermont State Police say the man was on his way to court to take care of a speeding ticket when he was stopped and arrested.

A West Hartford man was clocked at driving 112 mph in Vermont when he was, ironically, heading to court to take care of a speeding ticket, according to Vermont State Police.

Seth Tichenor, 33, was arrested and charged Wednesday with excessive speed and negligent operation.

Police said Troopers from the Vermont State Police Traffic Operations Unit stopped a vehicle after reports were called into dispatch concerning a vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic on I-89 North in Royalton, Vt.

Troopers clocked Tichenor’s vehicle a short time later traveling at 112 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to police.

Police said Tichenor was headed to traffic court to take care of a speeding ticket when he was stopped.

He is due in court for the latest speeding infraction on Oct. 27.
