West Hartford Restaurant's Liquor License Suspended Following Shooting Incident: Report
Police said the move follows years of non compliance and disturbances stemming from the restaurant.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – Following a Saturday shooting, police said in an email that the liquor license at Los Imperios had been suspended.
Lt. Eric Rocheleau said in an email that sale and consumption of alcohol will be prohibited at the Farmington Avenue location. Los Imperios will, however, remain open to serve food.
Rocheleau said the move follows years of non compliance and disturbances stemming from the restaurant. The decision is meant to ensure the safety of customers and neighbors alike.

An end date for the suspension has not been officially set, but Consumer Protection is required to hold a hearing within a reasonable amount of time.
Rocheleau said the town is willing to work with the owner to develop a safety plan, and so that the business can operate within the town code. The bar and restaurant had previously come under heat for operating as a nightclub against the town’s zoning codes.

Police will continue to monitor Los Imperios during the suspension to ensure they comply with the decision.
Rocheleau also said the shooting investigation is progressing, but witnesses are still being sought out. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police detective division immediately.
