Outdoor Dining Season Officially Over In West Hartford
The operation is to prepare the town for snow-removal operations this winter.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Ever since the pandemic hit big in 2020, outdoor dining has become a staple of the restaurant scene — regardless of how bad Covid is.
But a seasonal milestone will take place Monday, Nov. 14, when the Town of West Hartford's public works department will start removing outdoor dining barriers from local streets.
The barriers provided restaurants with a popular means to cater to diners still wary of eating indoors.

But, now that the weather is getting colder and colder, town staffers say removing the barriers is necessary to prepare for future snow removal operations on local roads.
Work to get rid of the barriers, according to the town, is expected to begin at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, weather permiting.

Town officials said it "may take a few days to complete."
As part of the effort, the Town of West Hartford is asking restaurants and businesses to remove their outdoor furniture and fixtures to help "support a safe removal process."
West Hartford officials said the barrier removal operation will not impact traffic patterns and LaSalle Road and Isham Road will remain one way.
Meanwhile, the town said parking on Farmington Avenue will stay as is, with a combination of parallel and head-in angle parking.
