Update: I-84 Crash In West Hartford Cleared

Accident was the third in the area Tuesday morning as motorists cope with rain-slicked asphalt.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The rain-slickened highway of Interstate 84 east continued to be a trouble spot Tuesday morning, as another crash has now snarled traffic in the area, but it has since been cleared.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, a two-vehicle accident on I-84 east in West Hartford had closed the highway's shoulders.

DOT officials said the crash was reported at 10:34 a.m. between exits 40 and 41.

As of 10:49 a.m., however, DOT officials reported the accident had been cleared.

Earlier in the morning, a tractor trailer crash in East Hartford shut down I-84 east, while a crash further down the highway on the same roadway also snarled traffic in Hartford.
