West Hartford's Prospect Cafe To Open Its Doors Soon

The new owners are gearing up for the reopening of the restaurant, which closed in Aug. 2013.

The Prospect Café will officially make its return to West Hartford and reopen its doors in early September, co-owners, and brothers, Paul and Jeff Emery tell the Hartford Courant.

The Prospect Café, located at 345 Prospect Avenue, closed its doors on Aug. 11, 2013 after 48 years in business.

Nick Faenza, who worked at the restaurant for 35 years, including the last 10 as the owner, told Patch at the time that “a lack of business” was the reason for the closing.

The Emery brothers signed the lease for the 2,700-square-foot property in January and decided to keep the restaurant’s original name and iconic sign, according to the Courant.

They told the Courant the restaurant will have a dining area, a bar lounge and an outdoor patio and everything on the menu will be made from scratch and they will use local sources from farms and services in the community.
