Update: 2nd West Hartford Wreck On I-84 Cleared

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Traffic was congested on a soaking wet Interstate 84 eastbound following a one-vehicle crash that has caused a 1.2-mile backup, but it has now been cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the crash was between exits 41 and 43 and has resulted in the left lane being closed.

The accident, DOT officials said, was reported at 2:02 p.m., with the accident reported cleared by the DOT at 3:57 p.m.

This was the second crash in West Hartford Tuesday on I-84 east, with a two-vehicle wreck cleared at 10:49 a.m.

Earlier in the morning, a tractor trailer crash in East Hartford shut down I-84 east, while a crash further down the highway on the same roadway also snarled traffic in Hartford.
