EASTON, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Easton and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Attorney Scott Charmoy, 53, is running for re-election to the Easton Board of Assessment Appeals as a Democrat. He holds a B.A. and J.D., and has a wife and two daughters.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Trumbull Board of Assessment Appeals, 2005-2016, Easton Zoning Board of Appeals 2018 to present, Easton Board of Assessment Appeals 2019 to present, and Tax Relief for the Elderly Committee 2020 to present.
Why are you seeking this office?
I enjoy volunteering for the Town of Easton, hearing appeals, and working with my fellow Board members

Maintaining our school system, and although I can't directly assist in these efforts through my elected office I can vote for those who will do so
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Experience, as I have served on Boards of Assessment Appeals for approximately 18 years
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My 18 years of experience on both the Trumbull and Easton Boards of Assessment Appeals
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Try to worry less. There is no point in worrying about things you can't control, and instead of worrying about the things you can control, work to change them.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
If elected I will continue to serve the Town to the best of my ability
