Easton Emergency Crews Rescue Lost Hikers
Police, fire and EMS workers were dispatched to find hikers lost in Trout Brook Valley Preserve in Easton.
EASTON, CT — Emergency services crews were called upon Friday to rescue two hikers who ha become lost in Trout Brook Valley Preserve.
Easton police received the 911 notification around 9:30 p.m. from someone who said two members of their family had called to say they were lost after hiking for several hours in the preserve, just before the hikers' phone battery died.
Police, and members of Easton Volunteer Fire Department and Easton Emergency Medical Services all convened at Aspetuck Apple Barn to coordinate search and rescue operations.

Police used a utility terrain vehicle in the effort, and the hikers were found by a K9 team near the Bradley Road entrance. No injuries were reported, and police assisted the hikers back to the car.
The Easton Police Department is warning hikers to travel with water, a charged phone, a flashlight, basic first aid materials and to always let friends and family know where you are going.
