EASTON, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Easton and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Married to Cathy Dunsby. Four children. Youngest attends Joel Barlow.

First Selectman of Easton 2013-19, State Representative 135th District 2017-19, Easton Board of Education, 2009-13, Easton Conservation Commission, 2002-09
Why are you seeking this office?
To provide an excellent education to all our students.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Returning to, then surpassing pre-pandemic levels of student achievement. We need to focus solely on education and avoid distractions.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Other candidates want to cede school control to the state and to allow ideological issues to dominate in the classroom. I believe our mission to provide exceptional education is best achieved by keeping control local, with the people who care most. In the classroom, the focus must remain mastery of the subject.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
The completion of the fields project.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I previously served on and chaired the Easton Board of Education. I also served as first selectman for six years. In the legislature I served on the Education Committee.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Don't make enemies.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I think the experience I have at the BoE, municipal, and state level will be an asset to our schools. I'll be able to help navigate at all those levels. Thank you.
