Easton resident Mark Mulvaney tells Patch why he should be elected to the Board of Finance.

EASTON, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Easton and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Mechanical contractor Mark Mulvaney, 49, is running for election to the Easton Board of Finance as a Republican. He studied at WCSU and Kean University and is married to Genevieve. The couple has identical twin boys in 7th grade at HKMS.

Brookfield Inlands Wetlands Commission for 8+ years and the Brookfield Board of Finance for 5+ years
Why are you seeking this office?
To ensure that Easton continues a path of fiscal responsibility and to ensure that our schools are properly funded.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Raising costs. I will make sure to look at every dollar we spend to ensure there is proper funding for our Town.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I bring decades of experience running a business and years of experience on the BOF of a larger town. I worked to bridge a bond between the BOF and BOE to form a trust in each other. I hope to build that here in Easton.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have many years of experience on a Board of Finance. I pay attention to the details.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Work hard for everything.
