Cops: Thief Who Stole Wedding Reception Envelopes Now Arrested
Police say a 30-year-old Mansfield man has been arrested after "eloping" with the gift envelopes in Westport, according to reports.

A thief seen on surveillance video making off with gift envelopes from a wedding reception last month has now been arrested, say Westport police, according to reports on NBC Connecticut and elsewhere.
NBC Connecticut gave this account of what happened, based on a Westport police announcement (an accusation not proven in court):

Tips then started coming in. Police applied for and received an arrest warrant, then notified the suspect that it had been issued by a judge. He then turned himself in Friday at the police station.
Police said Frank A. Burnett, 30, of Mansfield, had been at a previous wedding reception as a guest days before, then came back to the Longshore Inn and loitered in the lobby, pretending to be a guest at the reception with the bird cage. Burnett was charged with fourth-degree larceny, posted a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
