Fourth Suspect Arrested In Westport Carjacking Case: Police
The violent incident occurred on Sept. 17.

WESTPORT, CT — A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with the violent Sept. 17 carjacking in Westport, according to Westport police.
Waterbury resident Vincys Baez, 20, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday and was charged with the following:
- Home invasion
- Burglary, 1st degree
- Robbery by carjacking
- Assault, 3rd degree
- Reckless endangerment
- Larceny, 1st degree
- Conspiracy to commit larceny, 1st degree
- Robbery, 1st degree
- Conspiracy to commit robbery, 1st degree
"Baez was the second individual captured on the surveillance camera," said Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods in a statement. "Westport Police Detectives have completed their investigation into the carjacking incident."

Also arrested in connection with the case were Waterbury resident Giovanni Lopez, 16, who is being tried as an adult; Garrett Gibbs, 22, also of Waterbury; and 39-year-old Berlin resident Derrick McGill, who police said operated the "chop shop" where the stolen Aston Martin convertible was located.
Lopez, Gibbs and Baez are accused of attacking a Bayberry Lane homeowner in his garage before stealing the Aston Martin. The homeowner suffered minor injuries in the attack.

Baez is being held in lieu of bail of $500,000, and was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
