Pennsylvania Senate Campaign Complicated By Westport Residency: Report
Former Bridgewater Associates CEO David McCormick is reportedly considering another run for a U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania.
WESTPORT, CT — Former Bridgewater Associates CEO David McCormick, who lost a Republican primary last year to Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, is reportedly considering launching another U.S. Senate campaign in the Keystone State, despite living in Westport.
The Associated Press writes that McCormick, who grew up in Pennsylvania, and his wife, former Goldman Sachs executive Dina Powell McCormick, rent a home in Westport worth $16 million, while at least one of their children completes high school.
McCormick owns multiple properties in Pennsylvania, in addition to homes in Colorado and Texas, and appears to be gearing up to run against incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey in 2024.

Casey, a three-term incumbent, is the son of a former Pennsylvania governor with deep ties to the state, New York Magazine reported.
In 2022, Oz, a famous television doctor, lost the Pennsylvania Senate election to Democrat John Fetterman, in part because Fetterman successfully painted Oz as a wealthy, largely out-of-touch candidate who lived in New Jersey.

Democrats might try to run the same playbook again in 2024, as McCormick reportedly was seen in virtual interviews this past spring in the kitchen of the Westport home.
McCormick's path to the GOP nomination was improved in May when losing Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano decided against mounting a campaign for Casey's post, The Hill reported.
Mastriano lost the Pennsylvania governor's race last fall to Democrat Josh Shapiro by double-digits.
