A Charlie Brown Christmas to be staged at the Wilton Playshop

December 7-9

November 16, 2018—Wilton, Conn. – A Charlie Brown Christmas, based upon the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, is back by popular demand and will be presented on the Wilton Playshop stage from December 7-9, 2018. Based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, this holiday favorite was adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer. Jeffrey Spector will direct and Christine Titus will choreograph this stage adaptation of the classic animated television special in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the other Peanuts grapple with the real meaning of Christmas.

When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When his attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas tree fails, Linus helps him learn the true meaning of Christmas.

Recommended for children of all ages. Approximate running time is 40 minutes.
