Police say the contractor had been stealing the items and then pawning and/or selling them to pawn shops in Danbury.

WILTON, CT — A South Salem contractor is facing larceny charges after police say he stole gear from high-tech manufacturer ASML in Wilton.

Ryan Jensen, 34, was a foreman working for Mars Electric out of Bethel, who was contracted to perform a large electrical project at ASML's 77 Danbury Road location beginning in July 2022, according to police.

In October 2023, the Wilton Police Department was notified that a large amount of custom electrical components and specialized tools were missing from the contractor yard trailer.

After internal audits and tracking had been completed, the total loss was believed to be around $385,000, according to police. Following their months-long investigation, police say they determined Jensen had been stealing the items and then pawning and/or selling them to pawn shops in Danbury.

Many of the items were no longer available at the shops, but police say they were able to recover about $128,000 worth of the gear.
